San Diego! (and some Maine too...)

I finally downloaded all the pics from my camera. I had a bunch from San Diego, and a few from a beach trip with Josh before we left.

We'll start with San Diego--the place that I now want to move to.

The view from our room:

And it's like this ALL THE TIME! It was cloudy every morning, then it would burn off to the most perfect blue sky. I'm in love.

A jogger offered to take our picture:

Lovely sunset. I could live in San Diego--it's so beautiful!

Baseball stadium: (right across the street from our hotel)

And did I mention they are dog-friendly in SD?? There were lots of dogs (though usually smaller than Tobey...) and some restaurants even had water and doggy-biscuits near their entrances. Lots of little ones too, which made me miss Josh even more, so their kid-friendly too! What more can you ask for???

Thursday--our one day of relaxation--no work for me! We went to Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. Here's one of the gardens in the park:

Gorgeous old buildings in the park:

The zoo!

Alrighty... back to Maine!

These are from a day at the beach with Josh from earlier this month (before San Diego):

Josh didn't even once touch the water. It was a nice warm day too! He was too busy making castles and throwing rocks in the ocean, and also he was fascinated by the sea weed. He's seen it before many times but it had never been quite as amusing.

Thomas the Train!

Today we went to Boothbay to see Thomas the Train - or as Josh says "Tom Tom"

There was so much to do. They had story telling, a hay maze, a train set area, live music, food, hay rides, a tractor ride (Josh was too small - darn!), and more things that I can't even think of! I'd have to say that the most entertaining part, perhaps even including the actual train ride, was an antique fire truck that the kids could play on. Josh LOVED the fire truck! Even while riding the Thomas train, he saw the fire truck across the field and shouted "Fire Truck!"

Driving the fire truck:

More driving:

There were a bunch of antique tractors in a barn (not part of the Thomas roadshow), he liked those a lot too!

Waiting for Thomas to come around so we could board:

It was a longer even than we thought it was going to be, poor little Joshy didn't get a morning nap and was on the go constantly, so by the time we were riding the Thomas train, he was sleepy. Amazingly, he didn't fall asleep in the car until we were about 3 minutes from our house.

One of these things...

This was my only CSA pic this week!
